Pucker-up with Winter Makeup and Skin Care Tips

One of the biggest trends for make up this season is a bold pout. Opt for a plum shade, with blue undertones which will help bring out the white in your teeth. Women with darker skin tones can go deeper and darker with their lip color. However, if you have a light complexion, stick to warmer hues, unless you’re going for an avant-garde look.

Blush is very important in the winter months to bring life back into your face. The darker your skin, the brighter you can go. Loud colors pop beautifully on brown or olive skin tones. If your skin is pale, go for a more muted color, so that it is not overpowering.

For eye makeup, choose opposite hues from your natural eye color to make the iris pop. Blue eyes work best with brown shades, green/hazel eyes stand out in lavender. Brown eyes are complimented by almost any color, so go crazy with your color palette.

For best results you must first take care of your skin. This is especially important as the temperatures continue to drop. Cold and dry winds can cause flakiness and irritation leaving your skin yearning for moisture. Exfoliate first then apply eye cream and rich moisturizer.

In terms of foundation look for winter formulas that are full of antioxidants, and go on the skin with a smooth matte finish. Winter skin doesn’t need to look shimmery and glowing, just clean and fresh.
